What has changed between ViaVoice 98 Home and ViaVoice Standard?  
The primary objectives of the ViaVoice Millennium range were to make improvements in the areas of enrollment, accuracy and ease of use.  With ViaVoice Standard, a new recognition wizard and a personal assistant 'Woody' offer you advice if you need it.  Just 'voice type' in to SpeakPad - ViaVoice's own fully featured word processor - to create text for most windows applications.  ViaVoice can be used by different people on your PC and is ideal for virtually everyone, teenagers and older.    

With ViaVoice Standard you can:
*Create documents fast just by talking and without having to worry about spelling.  Try saying the following words that are most often spelt incorrectly:  consensus, possession, necessary - and these sentences to see how ViaVoice deals with words that sound the same but are spelt differently: 
    Please write to Mr Wright right now
    I wonder whether the weather will improve tomorrow
*Format text as you dictate with simple commands like "bold on".
*Save time by using short-spoken commands (dictation macros) to insert text, such as letter endings, that you use regularly.
*Make corrections quickly and easily with your voice or your keyboard, with help from the recording of your own dictation.
*Have documents read aloud to you - great for incoming e-mail or for checking you own documents.

Hints and Tips for using the application
For the best start, read and follow the instructions presented on the screen
Check the microphone is in the correct position - too close and it will hear you breathing - too far away and it will not hear you talk!
Relax! 
Speak clearly and naturally, but there is no need to shout at your PC anymore!
Don't over emphasise words or their endings.
Practice dictating by reading from a broad-sheet newspaper.
Dictate whole paragraphs before stopping to make any corrections, its faster and easier!
Make sure you make your corrections -  ViaVoice continues to improve all the time.
